"So promise me you'll never forget...that you aren't an accident or an incident...you are a gift to the world, a divine work of art, signed by God. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on this earth...Flooded by emotion, overcome by pride, the Starmaker turns to us, one by one, and says, 'You are my child. I love you dearly.'" Max Lucado, God Thinks You're Wonderful

A Dress and a Dream

I have to admit. I am not very good at letting sister just randomly pick her outfit. I give her options, but not just full on pick whatever she wants out of the closet.

Today I did.

This is the dress she picked.

There is a story behind this dress.

Blake and I bought it 10 years ago in Russia. We were there on a mission trip working with orphans.

We had just decided that we were going to adopt our children. It would be our "plan A".

We were at the market and saw this dress. It was a dream. That one day we would have a child to fill it. We were only engaged at the time, but my pumpkin of a love bought it. I fell deeper in love with him that day.

At that time we thought we would adopt internationally so our child would be older and possibly from Russia. And here is our gorgeous African American princess loving this dress and having no clue what emotions it holds for her mommy and daddy.

What a beautiful family you have! My husband and I have enjoyed your blog so much. We live in Indiana, have 13 children, 5 of whom are adopted. Three are African-American siblings, one is from Guatemala and the youngest was adopted as an infant from Indiana and is biracial.
Thank you for showing all of us your lovely family as they grow so happy and healthy under your loving care.
God bless you!
