Oh yes, we did!

Today we took our sweet baby girl to get her ears pierced.

I hear the gasps...

That's why I am telling you all over the internet!

Judge me if you want, but I did a ton of research before we made our decision.

Or before I talked Blake into it.

And, we kind of cheated a bit.

If anyone cares to know...EMLA cream does wonders for numbing up the ears for piercing.

This sweet baby didn't make a peep.

The click did startle her and her bitty legs jumped while I was holding her.

But I am not lying....she never cried or even made a noise.

Another thing we did today was meet our friend Holden for a play date.

Watch out Turner...he's moving in on your territory!

His shirt says, "My entire life is being blogged" I need some of those shirts, huh?

We had so much fun and I sure enjoyed sharing conversation with a momma that shares a passion for trans-racial adoption.

Speaking of adoption...you need to go here.

We've been busy because of the response from the post below.

So many people want to show their support of this change for Oklahoma...and we are going to need as many Oklahoman's behind this as possible.

If you have a blog, website, or just want to email this blog to people who might show their support for this change...please share it!

The blog is http://www.promoteokadoption.blogspot.com/

If you are lost and have no idea what I am talking about, read the post below!

Love the earrings!!! When they are little likes this it's the best time to do it. I did Ashleigh's after she was a year old and now she doesn't wear them at all. She messed with them all the time. They got infected and had problems because she wouldn't leave them alone. My doctor said I should have done it around 6 months of age.

Enjoyed the pics!!! Thanks for sharing!!

Hi there!!!
Your sister Becki gave me your address - your kiddos are beautiful. And Sadie looks adorable with those earrings!!! I have 4 children who are biracial although not through adoption. Becki told me you were looking for some hair tips - I would LOVE to share what I have learned over the years!

Also, I am a huge adoption supporter, my best friend has adopted her three kiddos - a boy from Russia and twin girls who are biracial.

I am glad I have found your blog and your sisters.

Hope to talk to you soon!!!

I love the earrings! We had Gracie's ears pierced when she was 10 months old and she's always been SO CUTE with her little earrings.

Hey Molly! No gasps from me, but one loud woohoo! Baby girls in Brazil get their ears pierced before they even leave the hospital when they are born. I mean, who better than a nurse to pierce their ears? Sadie looks adorable with her earrings on!

I am glad that everything worked out. You meant business when we spoke about this last weekend! You worked fast on this one! She looks so happy and there is even more of a sparkle with the ear rings and her smile! I love it.

Hi I am a visitor from Kim's blog and I would like to link the adoption site to my blog but I am not sure how. Could you tell me?

Also I would like to say that I have read ayour blog a wee bit and I loved your post about bi-racial hair. I, too, have a bi-racial DD through adoption and have had the worst time trying to find the right products for her. I couldn't find a salon in my town that carried "Mixed Chicks" but I found one while on vacation. We used it for the first time while still on vacation and may I say that "I AM IN LOVE!" It is wonderful on my DD's hair. No More frizzies! Thank you so much!!!!!

Oh and one more thing about the adoptions and having to wait until you can get a court date and appear before the judge, I have done this with birth Mother's before. I have seen first hand how they are questioned over and over again, the same question just worded differently. It was hard to hear and I'm wasn't the one being questioned. There is nothing worse then having to wait those two weeks to get a date. Nothing worse then wondering if your birth mother is going to suddenly change her mind. Thank you and God Bless you for doing this I am 100% in agreement.

Blessings

Liz

I'm not quite sure how I made it to your blog, but I loved reading it! (I believe God helped me get here!) I have three bi-racial children that are 7, 4, and 1! The older they get, the more we learn how to deal with the "lack of knowledge" you have spoken about. Since I am in a inter-racial marriage, we have dealt with it in that respect as well. I have always told my children that they were made by God and that they are just like everyone else. I pray everyday that they will not have to deal with any negativity and that everyone will accept them for who they are. Obviously, because of Satan and ignorance they will have to deal with it, but what I have found is that the children their age are so much different then our generation. The only kids that see "color" are the ones that hear about it from their parents. My husband and I always say if we get mad or angry we are letting the people with the "lack of knowledge" and Satan win and we refuse to let that happen!!

The hair for my boys hasn't been as hard as for my little princess! I am definitely going to try to find the product you mentioned, but right now we use Neutrogena Curl Construct and Spray Gel. It works pretty well. I braid her hair everynight before she goes to bed and I wash it twice a week.

I know that God put those children in your life for a reason. I can tell you countless stories of people questioning which one is my child when I go to pick them up or watching them in a sporting event. I show them with great pride which one is my child. We are truly a ministry to others. My kids have changed the hearts of so many people when it comes to race and I know your's will, too.

My husband and I believe as long as we raise them in the Lord than He is in control and will take care of our babies. I think your plan to change the law is a great project and I pray that you will be successful!

God bless you and your children!

Love the ears! What a cutie!! Could she get any cuter with them...I don't know!

I am so behind this bill, these families all go through so much just to get through the process we don't need to add it. I love you all so much and can't wait to see this through!!

The sweet Sadie smile says it all! I love those sparkling earrings, they are too adorable!

And little Turner is jealous indeed! He'll win Sadie back at our play date in a few weeks..no worries :)

Seriously, you and Becky need to think about running for President/VP...I can see it now!

It's so cool to see how people can truly make a difference if you put your heart and soul into something. You go girl!
