Naptime to dinner

Does anyone else find this to be a time when just about anything can happen?
It seems like if we are going to have meltdowns, it occurs after naps and before dinner.

We had such a fabulous day yesterday, but then it seemed to just become some crazy comedy here.
This picture describes it well.
Cooper piddled all over the floor (luckily he was on the tile) and almost soaked daddy's shoes. *Please note the lack of pants in the picture*

Then when I thought he was cleaning up another mess he made while cutting paper, he actually was continuing to work on his fine scissor skills. He stood up to show me his shirt. Can you see the LARGE hole in the middle. He was seriously going to town on that sucker.

When am I going to stop giving my 2 year old scissors while making dinner? Thank God it wasn't those precious curls that took the cutting!

Oh Molly....thank you for my early morning laugh. This is hysterical. I know, probably only b/c it wasn't my little guy engaged in the behavior, but how can you not crack up looking at that face of his?!

I think every mother's dread is the 3-5:00 hours! I know it is mine and many other moms I am friends with! Can't wait to meet these little guys this summer!

We call the hour before dinner the "witching hour" in our house. Ephraim goes from happy to losing it on a frequent basis. No amt. of snacks or early dinner seems to help. Someone should research this. Seriously - Cooper is too cute and props for the fine motor skills.

You just described my girls perfectly...except for us instead of cutting the shirt we cut sister's bedding!!! Glad to know I'm not alone in the crazy time!!

yeah - seriously - when will you learn with the scissors? Isn't this the second shirt cutting incident? Things to keep out of Coopers reach....scissors, diaper creme, and....oh yeah. GIRLS! That little man is going to break your heart one day! Don't worry - i will hold you and cry, right after Greyson breaks mine!

The look on Coop's face is priceless. I really thought that you would have hidden the scissors. Try to convince them to make a mosaic by ripping the paper into small pieces. Then of course you's have to give them a glue stick or bottle of glue to paste the small pieces of paper onto a larger sheet. Wait, that sounds worse, Just tell them to go play outside!
