Several times in the last week I have cried at ridiculous things (Charlotte's Web for example). Today it wasn't so ridiculous, but even still I've been crying a lot lately. Today I was reading Bible stories for the boys before naps and we read the story of Jesus dying on the cross. We've talked about this sacrifice countless times, but today it was different and I was stuck in the moment. Cooper was especially emotional about it today and he kept asking me why Jesus died and why the soldiers hit him. It just brought me to tears telling him that Jesus chose to die for HIM... that He died on the cross so that we may be forgiven for our sins. Lord, if I teach my kids nothing else, may they fully understand your deep love for them!!!I know I keep going on and on about our time here and what a blessing this has been, but if you remember correctly, you know I was hesitant to come here and leave our life at home; our family, friends and church. Now, I wonder if God was rolling His eyes at me as He knew of all that He was going to teach me here and in that bless us with. Perhaps this is why I've been so emotional. God has not only met each and every need of our family, but blessed us beyond our dreams.
Like this afternoon, Blake came home early and we got to run around town a bit!
Owen jumping off of a light post. It's amazing seeing the town as the sun is setting. You can still see the mountains, but also all of the lights!
Such a fun town. Did you know the population of Aspen is 5,000 but the week between Christmas and New Years there are an extra 20,000 people here? Whoa! 
Guess what we found? McDonalds! So fun to treat the kids to some nuggets! 
We never really go to McDonalds so they were so pumped! 
I might have been responsible for stumbling on the chocolate candy store! I love me some chocolate! 
Are these not so cute? Chocolate covered marshmellows made into snowmen! 
Sadie and I shared a piece of toffee. She's fun to share with because she really gets into letting you know she likes it. 
We kept seeing this cool fire pit and finally got a pic by it. Notice Sadie is saying "Hi-eee" to her daddy taking her picture.
Are they not the sweetest brothers sharing their treats with sister? We opted not to take the horse pulled carriage ride that was $70 f0r 20 minutes. Are you kidding me? I mean it's cool, but we can do that in OKC for $20! If you're not taking me by the celebrity homes, then no thanks!

Wow....70 for 20???? Crazy - I can think of a lot of stuff to do with 70 and it last a lot longer than 20 min!!!!
Cute pics....love the story about Jesus....so thankful to have that in writing and tell him about it later.
I adore you friend, you have such a tender, marvelous heart and you love your children with such a pure heart...it shows in every picture and is an inspiraton to me. So glad you are making lemonade out of lemons...this will be a sweet time that you can look back as a family and say..remember when Sadie used to play with the microwave...or we all shared one room...what a wonderful family you guys are!
I think it is so awesome that you are home with them to teach them those stories! It makes me nervous when Caden asks lots of questions and I often wish Cory was here to help me guide Caden to our Lord, but then I realize that is exactly how God wants it...for me to teach the boys daily, throughout the day, about Him!
