My sweet surprise!

So early last week I got a surprise in the mail! My precious sisters sent me a crock pot for Christmas!!! How great are they? Thank you so much girls!!!!

Several people sent me recipes on facebook (because I really don't use my crock pot at home!). So we've had some wonderful new meals here...I think I might be hooked! I have been surprised how many things you all came up with by using just the stove! I have also seen what a blessing this has been: fewer dishes, less prep time, less money!

Here the boys are excited about dinner and our new crock pot! (Sorry for the undies...I've given up trying to have everyone dressed unless we are going somewhere!)

Miss Sadie finding herself in the mirror this morning!
This is one night when daddy was working and we decided to have a movie night!

Sadie kept sneaking popcorn out of the boys' bowl and putting it in her pile! She LOVES popcorn and anything sweet!

sweet sisters! you are going to be a whiz at the crockpot. i am not so much - but brisket tacos are on the menu this week. i'll just share it with you here because it is so easy and will serve you're whole fam for a couple of days.
ingredients:
pot roast and Claude's brisket marinade. that's about it. make sure you get a roast that will fit in the crockpot, not too big. anyways, put roast in crockpot and pour marinade over it. i add 2-3 cups of water otherwise it is super salty. anyways, let cook all day until it falls apart like a roast should. then you remove the roast and tear it all apart. we save a little of the marinade so the leftovers remain flavorful. then put the meat on tortillias add whatever you would to your normal taco. or most often we just do the meat and queso on these particular tacos. okay, i didn't promise it would be healthy. but maybe a fun weekend meal. try it. you won't regret it! blake have any interviews in dfw?? you should come move here for a year!! oh that would be heaven for me and my boys!
