First trip to the Dentist

I know you are shocked that we are just now visiting the dentist.

Not with Cooper, that's right...Owen has never been to the dentist until today.

You know what? We didn't make an appointment for Cooper either.

Does anyone else think it's weird that they expect you to take your kids in when they first get teeth?

I mean, come on! My kids were 6 and 7 months old when they got their first!

Anyhow, I was a bit embarrassed walking in with my newly 3 year old for our first cleaning.

The dentist made me feel much better and said they really don't need to go until 2 1/2 or 3 unless you think there are problems. I was relieved to not be as country as I thought!

So, Owen did great. He walked in and introduced himself, his brother and myself to the assistant and then opened up really wide. It was funny because we were just sitting in a normal office.

The dentist said Owen did great until he walked in the room! Then evidently he lost it. So, lucky for our wallet, there were no x-rays today. Thank you Owen! (I'm sorry, but come on!)

On the way to the car when I asked Owen about his visit he told me that Dr. Moody let a stinky tootie and didn't excuse himself. I tried to hide it, but I totally cracked up. I know this is probably not true, but still it was funny that that's what he thought of when I asked him!

I told Owen that if he did well at the dentist we could go to the store and pick out a new toy. Now if you know me at all, you know that means I drove a couple blocks to the local grocery store and let them pick out a toy for under $2.

While we were there, we had one man actually ask me if he could have my kids. I giggled and kept walking. When I looked back up at him, he said, "No, really?" Seriously people, they are cute, but don't be weird about it!

While we were waiting in line, a man behind us gave me a friendly warning of the trouble I was going to have with girls in a couple of years. Owen must have picked up on the stares at their cute little selves because he started picking his nose. I was so embarrassed because there were at least a half dozen people staring at them.

Any ideas on how to get a 3 year old to stop picking their nose when they have an audience???

I pushed their cart away and threatened he couldn't have his new Hot Wheels car if he didn't get his finger out of his nose! Worked like magic, still embarrassed me though!
I told you Cooper didn't get his teeth cleaned, but Owen was sweet enough to give all of his stickers to Cooper when he got home. He's such a good big brother!
Does life get any better than this? He's working a puzzle, which is very difficult for this age. I mean to sit still and try and concentrate. It didn't last long, but it sure was cute!

This is what we did after naps. We love our new swing set. It's so nice to not have to fight over who gets to swing! There's room for everyone!

Hey Max is 4 1/2 and has only been to the dentist once! (Twice if you count the time he fell out of the grocery cart and we took him to the dentist...) And just so you know, that warning on the grocery carts about kids falling out, apparently that doesn't just happen to moms who aren't supervising their children. I always thought that was the dumbest warning...until my child went flying out. Anywho...

We are going again in September.....I went ahead and put Sutton on in the rotation because at the rate I am going, he may be 4 before I get him in!

I love the swingset and the picture of them on it back to back! And why does Cooper have to be so advanced? It's not normal to do puzzles at his age! Cooper, please slow down your "achievements" you are making the rest of us normal people look bad!

Love you!
