"So promise me you'll never forget...that you aren't an accident or an incident...you are a gift to the world, a divine work of art, signed by God. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on this earth...Flooded by emotion, overcome by pride, the Starmaker turns to us, one by one, and says, 'You are my child. I love you dearly.'" Max Lucado, God Thinks You're Wonderful

Adoption buddies!

This morning I vividly remember praying for patience today when I interact with the boys.

I prayed that if discipline is needed that it would be godly discipline and done in love and respect.

Now, I found this interesting that this is what I was feeling the need to pray for because the boys have been absolute delights lately. They are just at a wonderful age where they understand the "rules" and they generally like to follow them. Not that they haven't needed time out occasionally, but they've been so easy in the last couple of months!

Today we met some friends that have adopted recently. We have not "played" with them before, so I was super excited to get to sit and talk with the mommies and let the boys run around and play.

Well, God knew I needed to say those prayers.

The boys acted like they had never been in public before today! If you've ever heard of that book "Thingamajigs", that's what we looked like at the mall today!

I was sweating bullets just chasing them around and trying to regain some control of the situation! I wasn't pulling it off well.

Picture it with me, those of you that might have toddlers. Here's me with Owen and Cooper, we all know they are ADORABLE, but they were screaming and running circles around all of the other calm children. And then there's these two other boys, Holden is 4 months old and just dosing away and Caleb was just as happy as a lark toddling around the play place. Makes me sweaty just thinking about it again!

After we left the others, I talked to Owen and Cooper about their behavior and told them of their consequence. They are both so sweet because I told them that they embarrassed me in front of my friends because of their choices to not behave. They both apologized in the car. They really are incredible young men, I don't mean to give off the impression they aren't...they were just being toddlers!

So, here are our pictures from today. Luckily, Melodie and Stephanie (both of the moms) have emailed me and said they would love to get together again. I guess we didn't scare them too much! Or maybe they just know how toddlers can be at times!

This is sweet Holden. He's an adorable little guy. I don't think he liked how close I was with the camera! Owen wanted to hold him, but Cooper was more concerned about me NOT holding him. He kept saying, "My mommy" when I held him!

I think Holden was feeling a little concerned that I was letting this crazy wild man hold him! I agree, buddy...that's why I am staying close!
This is Caleb! Is he not to die for!?!? He'll be one in a couple of weeks! Thanks for playing guys! Maybe next time we could play at our house so as to not scare any other small children...just kidding!

These are of us this morning playing in the rain! What a beautiful chilly day we had! We LOVED every minute of this and can't wait for fall to be here! I love the one above of Owen helping Cooper ride the bike. Can you tell Cooper was having fun?

oh my goodness! i wish i had known you were sweating bullets over cooper and owen. i really didn't think anything of it. i just thought - they're energetic boys and i will have one soon. at one point i did think it would be easier if holden never learns to walk. :) we are looking forward to another play date and maybe holden will stay awake.
