"So promise me you'll never forget...that you aren't an accident or an incident...you are a gift to the world, a divine work of art, signed by God. You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on this earth...Flooded by emotion, overcome by pride, the Starmaker turns to us, one by one, and says, 'You are my child. I love you dearly.'" Max Lucado, God Thinks You're Wonderful

We made it!

I love this picture! Love Sadie's sunglasses that she insisted wearing even after one lens fell out. Love that she is looking at pics of our family. Love how you can see Emery checking out an OU book and the boys watching a movie together.

We made it to Aspen! It was a wonderful trip. The kids did an outstanding job. We were completely shocked. Not that they aren't always great kids....but that's a hard LONG trip for an adult. Not to mention 4 kids 5 and under!

Owen's monster face. Not sure if you can hear but at the end of the video Owen told me he wanted me to take a pic of his monster face. That's a pretty mean monster face if you ask me!

There was only one incident where one whacked another with a sucker. Bad call, but they had some pent up energy (not to mention a lot of sugar during the car ride...sorry, but it does make a trip easier!). We actually made the 15+ hour drive in one day! We left our house right at 7 and got here at midnight. The kids only got out of the car once!!! Blake and I were completely pooped when we got here just after midnight, but we were so thankful to have had a safe and uneventful trip that we didn't care. So we were supposed to spend the night in Denver and then head to Aspen on Monday, but once we got to Denver and checked the weather for the next day it appeared that the snow storm was coming in earlier than expected. So we fed the kids, bathed them, put them back in jammies, let them run off some energy and headed back out two hours later.

Since we were coming into Aspen earlier than expected we first checked to see if there would be a place for us to spend the night. As God would have it, the resident that was at the apartment before us just happened to leave early and left the apartment unlocked. Isn't God good?

The apartment is smaller than last year, which we didn't think was possible. But once we got everything in and unpacked it feels quite nice. A small place makes less to clean ;) And we get to see more of each other...you can't hide in 500 square feet! Yesterday when the kids woke up Owen told Blake that the apartment was different than last year. Blake asked him what was different and Owen said, "Its teensy weensy tiny!"

Mercy, I love that smile. How can you not just cheese up looking at it? She might be happy about the sucker she had...thanks Noonie and Papa for our goody bag for the car trip!

Today was Blake's first day to work and he didn't have to be in until 9! What a treat! He made us all waffles too. We are already feeling so blessed to be here even though it was hard to leave family and friends. It's just hard to put into words the gift of family time, new adventures, lots of memories, down time and the culture of Colorado.

Sweet baby Emme! Can you tell she is into paper? This was her favorite thing to play with on the car ride, looks like she got a little taste too. Yummy!

We'll be taking lots of pictures and hope to do more updates. I also want to talk more about the last post and Black Baby White Hands. I loved your comments and thank you so much for all of your encouragement. Hope you like the video! Love you all!
